Trip to Mongla Port Dublarchar

Dublar Char

Dublar Char is best known to Hindus for its holy baths, rasmelas and deer. In the middle of the river Kunga and the dead animal, this isolated Dublar Char has awakened.

Dublar Char is a small beautiful island located south of the Bangladesh part of the Sundarbans, southeast of Hiran Point and southwest of Katkar.

Fishermen can enter Dublar Char only with permission to collect fish from the headquarters of the Eastern Division at Bagerhat in the Sundarbans.

All the families of Dublar Char are fishermen so it can be called a fishing village. In addition to fishing, the work of making shuntki is done here. During the monsoon season, fishermen from Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Satkhira and Khulna set up temporary settlements in Dublar Char. The dried fruits from Dublar Char are stored and sold in the wholesale market of Asadganj in Chittagong.

Every year in the month of Kartik (November) a three-day Rasmeela of Hindus is held at Dublar Char. Domestic and foreign tourists flock to see this nearly 100-year-old Rasmeela. If you want to see the Rashmela of this isolated Dublar Char, plan ahead. This experience will be remembered by you forever.

Usually the trawler or tourist vessel that is hired to go to Dublar Char has the facility of staying and eating at night and everything else.

 How to get there:

Large trawlers, launches, or speed boats can be taken from Mongla Ghat to Dublar Char
